Watford have sacked head coach Ed Still after less than three months in charge, following a disappointing finish to the Championship season.

Still signed a two-and-a-half-year deal at Vicarage Road when he replaced Javi Garcia, who resigned from his position in February.

However, the Hornets finished the Championship season in 16th place, 16 points behind Hull City, who finished in the final play-off spot.

When Still took over, Watford had been 11th, just three points off the play-offs, but a run of just three wins in 15 matches (D4 L8) saw them slip down the table.

Watford finished the season on a run of five consecutive losses, including a 4-0 thrashing at the hands of champions Coventry City on the final day. During that run, they conceded 16 goals and scored just one.

Still leaves the club having won just 20% of his matches in charge, while averaging 0.87 points per game.

Watford are now seeking their 12th boss since the end of the 2020-21 season.
