Alexia Putellas led Barcelona with a brace as they booked their place in the Women's Champions League final with a 4-2 victory over Bayern Munich in their semi-final second leg, winning 5-3 on aggregate.

Bayern were blown away by Barcelona's fast start, and though they attempted a late fightback, they were no match for the Spanish giants at Camp Nou.

Barcelona could have taken the lead inside 60 seconds, but a lunging Salma Paralluelo failed to make contact with Caroline Graham Hansen’s stunning right-sided cross.

The hosts’ strong start was then rewarded in the 13th minute as another superb Graham Hansen delivery was whipped into the far post, and this time Paralluelo buried it.

Just four minutes later, though, Bayern were back on level terms, with Linda Dallmann sliding in to poke a low shot past Cata Coll into the bottom-left corner.

Putellas put Barcelona back in front in the 22nd minute, though, latching onto a loose clearance to drill her low strike into the bottom-right corner, restoring the hosts’ control.

Within 13 minutes of the second half, Barcelona had added another two goals to their tally; Ewa Pajor thumped home from Paralluelo’s delivery before Putellas got her second four minutes later, flicking the ball over her shoulder and in.

Bayern were not done yet, though, as Pernille Harder’s deflected low shot bounced past Coll.

The Barcelona goalkeeper then made a stunning save to deny Arianna Caruso before Linda Dallman hit the woodwork, and Bayern almost forced a nervy ending, but Harder’s second goal was disallowed for a foul in the build-up.

Data Debrief: Bayern no match for Barca's home advantage

Barcelona have now reached the Champions League final in each of the last six seasons, stretching back to 2020-21.

And that stems from their incredible record on home soil; they have won 33 of their last 35 such matches in the Champions League (D1 L1), including the last 10 in a row by an aggregate score of 52-6.

Putellas has been involved in at least one goal in each of her last eight home Champions League appearances (seven goals, eight assists).

Barcelona ultimately gave Bayern no space to put up a fight, with the hosts recording 3.25 expected goals (xG) from 23 shots, to Bayern's 0.99 xG from 12 attempts.
