WNBA star Sabrina Ionescu is ready to make her season debut.
Ionescu will join her New York Liberty teammates for the first time in a game Sunday against the Dallas Wings after missing five contests with a foot injury.
Ionescu, who was injured in a preseason game when she landed awkwardly on her ankle and foot on a drive to the basket, practised Saturday, and while she said she's ready to play, she noted she might sit out Monday against the Portland Fire in the second half of a back-to-back. Coach Chris DeMarco said Ionescu will be on a minutes restriction.
The Liberty went 3-2 without their starting guard.

An All-Star and All-WNBA Second Team selection each of the last four seasons, Ionescu is considered one of the league's top scorers.
In 38 games last season, she averaged 18.2 points, 5.7 assists and 4.9 rebounds. Her average of 2.1 made 3-pointers per game ranked ninth in the WNBA.
