The Washington Mystics pulled away late in the fourth quarter to defeat the Golden State Valkyries 90-82 on Monday and snap the second-year franchise’s team-record nine-game winning streak.

Golden State (19-8) took a seven-point lead with 3:32 left in the game, but Washington (13-12) outscored the Valkyries 17-2 the rest of the way.

The Mystics got 23 points, 12 rebounds and four assists from Kiki Iriafen, Sonia Citron had 17 points and six assists, and Shakira Austin added 15 points and 15 boards as Washington avoided a third straight loss.

The Valkyries saw top-two scorers Gabby Williams and Janelle Salaun combine to shoot 7 of 24 overall and 1 of 10 from three-point range.

Kaitlyn Chen came off the bench to lead Las Vegas with career highs of 20 points and six assists.

Lynx edge Storm for sixth straight win

Kayla McBride, Olivia Miles and Courtney Williams helped the WNBA-leading Minnesota Lynx extend their winning streak to six games with a 105-102 victory over the league-worst Seattle Storm.

McBride scored 33 and had six three-pointers, Miles added 32 points, eight rebounds and eight assists, and Williams contributed 21 points for Minnesota (21-6).

They combined for 30 of the Lynx’s 37 field goals and went 18 of 18 from the free-throw line.

Flau’jae Johnson led the Storm (6-22) with 26 points and hit a career-high five shots from beyond the arc, but the rookie’s three-pointer at the buzzer bounced off the rim.

Seattle has lost five in a row and seven of its last eight games.

Liberty win in OT to end Wings’ six-game run

Sabrina Ionescu took over in overtime to lead the New York Liberty to a 99-98 victory that snapped the Wings’ Dallas-era franchise record winning streak at six games.

Ionescu had 12 of New York’s 16 points in overtime, with Breanna Stewart scoring the other four as part of a 33-point night.

Stewart added 13 rebounds, eight assists and two blocks, Ionescu scored 21 and Jonquel Jones had 14 points and 10 boards as the Liberty (14-12) ended a four-game losing streak and won for just the third time in their last 11 contests.

Dallas (17-9) played without leading scorer Paige Buckers after the 2025 WNBA Rookie of the Year left Sunday’s 90-82 win over the Los Angeles Sparks following a late collision.

Bueckers, averaging 20.9 points, 6.2 assists and 4.2 rebounds, hit her head on the floor but is not in concussion protocol.

Arike Ogunbowale scored 29 for the Wings, Azzi Fudd had 15 points and Jessica Shepard added 13 points, 16 rebounds and six assists.

The game was rescheduled from Thursday due to the Liberty’s charter flight to Dallas having mechanical issues.

Aces roll past expansion Tempo

A’ja Wilson scored 26 points in 28 minutes to lead the Las Vegas Aces to an easy 109-83 win over the expansion Toronto Tempo.

Wilson and fellow starters Jackie Young (season-high 24), NaLyssa Smith (18) and Chelsea Gray (14) totalled 82 points, and those four players combined for 25 of Las Vegas’ 29 assists and 10 of the team’s 14 three-pointers.

The defending WNBA champion Aces (18-7) shot 57.7 per cent from the field in their sixth win in eight games.

Wilson shot 11 of 14 from the floor, Young made 10 of 17 attempts and Smith went 9 of 10.

Isabelle Harrison had a career-best 26 points to go with 11 rebounds for the Tempo (10-16), who have lost three straight and seven of their last eight contests.
