After finishing with the worst record in the NBA, the Washington Wizards will indeed pick first in this year's draft.

The Wizards won the draft lottery, which was revealed on Sunday in Chicago.

This will be the franchise's first time selecting first since 2010, when Washington drafted John Wall, who was the Wizards' on-stage representative at the event.

The second pick will go to the Utah Jazz with the Memphis Grizzlies getting the third choice and the fourth pick going to the Chicago Bulls, who had the biggest jump after having the ninth-highest odds at the No. 1 pick.

The draft will be on June 23 in New York.

The Los Angeles Clippers have the fifth pick, followed by the Brooklyn Nets at No. 6, Sacramento Kings at No. 7, Atlanta Hawks at No. 8 and Dallas Mavericks at No. 9, with the Milwaukee Bucks rounding out the top 10. They are followed by the Golden State Warriors at No. 11, Oklahoma City Thunder at No. 12, Miami Heat at No. 13 and Charlotte Hornets at No. 14.

Washington, Brooklyn and Indiana all had the best odds of winning the No. 1 pick at 14 per cent each.

Utah and Sacramento weren't far behind at 11.5 per cent, followed by Atlanta (9.8%), Memphis (9%), Dallas (6.7%), Chicago (4.5%), Golden State (2%), Oklahoma City (1.5%), Miami (1%) and Charlotte (0.5%).

This year's draft is considered one of the deepest in decades.

While BYU's AJ Dybantsa, Kansas' Darryn Peterson and Duke's Cameron Boozer are the overwhelming favourites to be the first three players selected, North Carolina's Caleb Wilson, Arkansas' Darius Acuff Jr., Illinois' Keaton Wagler and Yaxel Lendeborg from national champion Michigan are all also projected to be stars in the NBA.
