The Oklahoma City Thunder will be without Jalen Williams and Cason Wallace for an extended period after both starters sustained injuries that will require surgery.
Williams broke his left fibula and dislocated his left ankle after being fouled on a drive to the basket with 1:14 remaining in Sunday’s 108-101 win over the Los Angeles Clippers.
Williams was a first-time All-Star during the Thunder’s 2024-25 NBA championship season before being limited to 33 games last season due to hamstring injuries.
Since being taken by Oklahoma City (3-0) with the 12th overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, Williams has averaged 17.9 points, 4.6 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.34 steals in 251 games.
He was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team in 2022-23, and the NBA All-Defensive Second Team and All-NBA Third Team in 2024-25.

Wallace injured his left shoulder on Sunday and will undergo surgery to repair a labral tear.
The defensive standout agreed to a five-year contract extension worth $139million right before this season after leading the league with 150 steals in 2025-26 and getting selected to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team.
Wallace averaged career highs with 8.6 points and 2.6 assists while appearing in 77 games last season, including a personal-best 58 starts.
He was selected by the Dallas Mavericks with the No. 10 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft before being traded to Oklahoma City for 12th overall selection Dereck Lively II.
Wallace’s 353 steals since his 2023-24 rookie season rank third-most in the NBA.
