The Oklahoma City Thunder will turn down Isaiah Hartenstein’s team option for the 2026-27 season to sign the 7-footer to a new three-year, $75 million contract, according to reports.
Hartenstein, who would’ve earned $28.5 million with the team option, initially joined the Thunder as a free agent in 2024, signing a three-year, $87 million deal that included the third-year option. He has been a key contributor the past two seasons, starting 99 of his 104 regular-season games and 35 of 38 in the playoffs.
Hartenstein averaged 9.2 points and 9.4 rebounds last season and shot 62.2 percent from the field. He frequently plays alongside the 7-1 Chet Holmgren to give Oklahoma City a double-big look up front.
The Thunder chose to keep Hartenstein after they reached trade agreements to send out Isaiah Joe to Detroit and Aaron Wiggins to Atlanta in deals that didn’t include any salary in return.
