Erik ten Hag is not ruling out a return to coaching at some point, but he does not expect to be offered the Netherlands job in the near future.
Ten Hag is currently the technical director at FC Twente, the club where he started and ended his playing career.
He has been out of management since being sacked by Bayer Leverkusen after just three games at the start of the 2025-26 season, and has a contract through to June 2028 with Twente.
The Netherlands are currently led by Ronald Koeman, whose contract will run out following the end of the ongoing World Cup.
Though Ten Hag has hinted he likes the idea of managing the national team, he has no plans to end his current contract early.
"I have signed a two-year contract with FC Twente, so I will be there for the next two years," he told NOS.
"I am not going to elaborate on my contract here.
"I would aspire to [being a national team manager]. It has come up before, but that wasn't the KNVB. If you could experience that, you would love to do it."

At the start of his managerial career, Ten Hag led Go Ahead Eagles to their first promotion in 17 years, while at Utrecht, he reached the KNVB Cup final in 2016 and gained them a European place the following season.
Ten Hag then went on to lead Ajax to three Eredivisie titles in his five-year spell, catching the eye of Manchester United.
He won the EFL Cup and FA Cup with the Red Devils, but a dip in performance saw him sacked in October 2024.
That was followed by his hugely unsuccessful spell at Leverkusen, but Ten Hag still wants to get back into the dugout one day.
"I am not tired of the coaching profession itself, but I have become selective," he added.
"I was a coach for 10 years, and that went pretty well. The experiences with technical directors and owners in recent years were not so good."
