San Antonio Spurs coach Mitch Johnson is hoping for positive news on Victor Wembanyama's rib injury.
Wembanyama sustained a left contusion during the first half of the Spurs' 115-102 win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday.
The Frenchman returned to the court after receiving treatment, but after playing several minutes, he asked to be taken off before halftime.
Wembanyama did not feature in the second half, and there are fears he could now miss a significant portion of the remaining games.
Johnson, though, is holding out for a positive update.
"I know he came back and he just didn't finish," Johnson said.
"At halftime, I was told he wasn't coming back. I haven't heard anything else up to this point.
"I think it would be a positive that he felt like he could come back, and he played the last four or five minutes of the half. So, that's a positive from my perspective."

The Spurs have won 12 of their last 13 games and sit second in the Western Conference.
While San Antonio have a postseason campaign to look forward to, the Memphis Grizzlies have already been eliminated from playoff contention.
They slipped to 25-54 for the season after going down 142-126 at home to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Their defeat came in spite of the Grizzlies matching the record for 3-pointers in a single NBA game, with 29.
"I think we can be pretty proud of how we played with this group today on the court," coach Tuomas Iisalo said.
"Guys wanted to go for it in the end, and we were all for it. Unfortunately couldn't set a singular record, but tied it. Nonetheless, very proud of our group."
