Scott Robertson is not getting complacent after two consecutive wins over Ireland, with New Zealand expecting a tight contest in Chicago.
The All Blacks go into their November internationals having narrowly missed out on the Rugby Championship title to South Africa earlier this month.
They also dropped back down to second in the world rankings, having briefly moved back above the world champions during the tournament.
Performances during the Rugby Championship have influenced Robertson's squad selection, with Quinn Tupaea and Peter Lakai among their starters.
The All Blacks have won their last two Tests against Ireland, having lost each of the previous four, but they did lose the last time these sides met at Soldier Field in 2016.
"I don't think you can say we have the edge over them," Robertson said.
"These games are really close. We expect that this weekend as well. It will be a tight, physical match that will come down to skillset or effort.

"You expect the best of them, and we've got to be at our best.
"We've got some good combinations and guys that can cover different positions; it's important."
Ireland will have Andy Farrell back in charge of the team after he temporarily stepped down in order to coach the British and Irish Lions' successful tour of Australia earlier this year.
However, Robertson brushed off the idea that Farrell's Lions commitments had hindered Ireland's preparations.
"They know who they are, they've been around long enough," he added.
"They've got a lot of cohesion and have played together a lot. They'll be pretty clear on how they want to play. They'll be up for it."
