Ghana have appointed Carlos Queiroz as their new head coach ahead of this summer's World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Queiroz takes the reins from Otto Addo, who was sacked just 78 days before they began their campaign in FIFA's flagship competition after losing to Germany last month.
Ghana also failed to qualify for the recent Africa Cup of Nations under Addo, but topped their World Cup qualification group, losing just one of their 10 matches (W8 D1).
And they have chosen Queiroz as Addo's successor, with the 73-year-old now overseeing his fifth consecutive World Cup.
"It is with a deep sense of gratitude to GFA, responsibility and humility that I embrace this new chapter with the National Football Team of Ghana. Football has given me a lifetime of challenges, lessons, and unforgettable journeys, all over the world," Queiroz said.
"Today, I accept this mission with the same passion and commitment that have guided me throughout my career. Ghana is a nation of talent, pride, and footballing soul.
"I arrive with respect for its history and belief in its future. Together, with unity, discipline, and ambition, we will work to honour the expectations of a great football nation.
"This is not just another job — it is a mission. And I am ready to give everything of my experience and knowledge once again, in service of the game and the happiness of people.

Queiroz led Portugal to the round of 16 at the 2010 World Cup and later coached Iran at the last three editions of the tournament, recording three wins in those 13 matches.
He was most recently in charge of Oman, winning four of his 12 games in charge (D4 L4), with his first game in charge of his new team coming on May 22.
Ghana face Mexico and Wales in two friendlies before their World Cup campaign begins. They are in Group L alongside England, Panama and Croatia.
