Pereira taking no notice of relegation rivals as Forest held by Fulham

Vitor Pereira says Nottingham Forest will take no notice of other results as they bid to beat off Premier League relegation.

Forest were held to a goalless draw by Fulham on Sunday, and a seventh straight home game without victory in the top flight leaves them 17th, but level on points with West Ham in 18th.

They could have surged further clear with a win, having watched West Ham hold Manchester City to a 1-1 draw on Saturday, while 15th-place Leeds United also shared the spoils with Crystal Palace.

Pereira will feel they should have claimed all three points as Dan Ndoye had a penalty overturned for offside by VAR, and a goal ruled out for the same reason at the City Ground.

Ola Aina also crashed a strike against the crossbar, but an upbeat Pereira has no plans to let his players become concerned with the relegation race, despite this missed opportunity.

"I said to my players that the results yesterday were good for us, because today, we had a chance to move above [and prove ourselves]," he said.

"Until the end of the season, we will try and get points in every game without looking at other results. I believe we can make it happen. We can win games."

Fulham failed to attempt a shot on target in this game, doing so for the first time in the Premier League since facing Arsenal last October, though Silva was relieved to escape with a point.

"We knew it would be a tough game, even if they are in a position that doesn't reflect the individual quality that they have," he told Sky Sports.

"The ability they have up front is at a very good level. We play to win games; it is our way, but some games are very tight. It is important for us to keep the feeling of the clean sheet being positive.

"We were close to the three points. My approach is always the same; we didn't win, we got the point.

"Next week, we have another game, and we want to be back to winning ways at home before we go to the international break."

Calvin Bassey and Rodrigo Muniz did have chances in either half, and Silva will not want to take away from what has been another productive campaign so far.

Only in 1959-60 (45), 2022-23 (42), and 2024-25 (45) have Fulham picked up more points after their opening 30 top-flight matches – converting all campaigns to three points for a win – than the 41 they have accumulated this season.

And another strong campaign leaves the potential of a late push for a European spot, though Bassey is not getting carried away with the likelihood of that just yet.

"I don't think it's ruled out," the centre-back said when asked about contending for Europe. "We take each game as it comes, anything can happen. I haven't looked at the table. Hopefully, things work in our favour as well."
