Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton will be forced to deal with another setback.
Haliburton will likely be out at least two weeks because of a mild left hamstring strain after he missed all last season with a torn right Achilles.
He played in the first four games this season before missing Indiana's home game Wednesday night against Philadelphia.
“He’ll be listed as week-to-week, so in two weeks from now if you want to ask how he’s doing that will be fine,” Pacers coach Rick Carlisle said. “I don’t think it’s realistic that he will play before then.”
The former All-Star suffered the Achilles injury in Game 7 of the 2025 NBA Finals against Oklahoma City.
He averaged 21.8 points and 9.5 assists in the first four games this season.
Haliburton has dealt with injuries to his left hamstring before. In January 2024, he missed 10 of 11 games with the injury, returned for the rest of the season and then aggravated it during the playoffs and missed the final two games of the Eastern Conference finals against Boston.
Haliburton joins a growing list of NBA stars out with injuries. Anthony Edwards, Paolo Banchero, Jimmy Butler, Jalen Williams, Kawhi Leonard, Jaren Jackson Jr, Brandon Ingram and Kon Knueppel are all currently sidelined with various injuries.
