Jan Oblak did not consider the half-time melee to be "serious" after Atletico Madrid defeated 10-man Real Madrid 2-1, as he revelled in an "important win". 

The focal point in this LaLiga contest came at the break after substitutes Antonio Rudiger and Morten Hjulmand squared up to each other inside the tunnel, with security being forced to intervene. 

The dispute stemmed from a reckless challenge by Lee Kang-In on Federico Valverde in the first half, with the former Paris Saint-Germain forward surprisingly escaping a booking. 

That caused a furore among both teams, with referee Miguel Angel Ortiz Arias sending off two members of the coaching staff, one from each team. 

This included Pedro Machado, one of Jose Mourinho's assistants, and Pablo Vercellone, Diego Simeone's goalkeeping coach. 

On the incident, Oblak said, "I don't know; the referee went to review both and made his decision. 

"The sending-off. If we were sent off against Villarreal, this one should have been too. If we weren't sent off against Villarreal, this one shouldn't have been either.

"I've been around, nothing serious. Some differing opinions from each team. I didn't know there had been expulsions."

The Derbi Madrileno exploded into life in the second half with Dean Huijsen receiving his marching orders after dragging back Giuliano Simeone inside the box.

That resulted in Alejandro Grimaldo converting his penalty in the 53rd minute before Jonathan David doubled the advantage five minutes later. 

Rudiger was able to score a consolation in the closing stages of the contest, but it was too little too late. 

Atletico finished with an expected goals (xG) of 2.4 from 18 shots, while Mourinho's side registered eight attempts, highlighted by an xG of 0.3. 

The result sees Atletico move within five points of leaders Barcelona in the LaLiga standings, leapfrogging their derby rivals with the victory.

Atletico are on their longest-ever home winning streak in derbies against teams from the Community of Madrid (W7), while Diego Simeone ended a three-game losing streak against Jose Mourinho in LaLiga.

"It's important to win; we're very happy with the three points," Oblak added. "It's important to win, but the league season is long. 

"The dressing room is in great shape; we've played quite well in the last few matches, even though they [Madrid] were very difficult."
