The Oklahoma City Thunder improved to 3-0 for the third straight season with a 108-101 win over the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday, but the victory was dampened by a serious lower left leg injury to star swingman Jalen Williams late in the game.
Williams had to be taken off the court on a stretcher after being fouled on a drive to the basket with 1:14 remaining.
Williams was a first-time All-Star during the Thunder’s 2024-25 NBA championship season before being limited to 33 games last season due to hamstring injuries.
The Thunder also lost guard Cason Wallace (left shoulder) and forward Jaylin Williams (right wrist) in the first quarter against the Clippers (2-1).
Reigning back-to-back NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the way for Oklahoma City with 34 points while adding six rebounds, five assists and two steals.
