The Toronto Raptors went on a late run to surge past Phoenix 122-115 on Friday and end the Suns’ four-game winning streak.

The Suns (39-28) looked like they were on the way to another victory when they took a 10-point lead with 8:12 left in the fourth quarter, but the Raptors (37-29) outscored Phoenix 27-10 the rest of the way to pick up the win after entering with six losses in their previous eight games.

Brandon Ingram led the way for Toronto with 36 points and RJ Barrett added 22, with Barrett scoring nine points and Ingram seven during the Raptors’ closing spurt.

Toronto opened a two-game lead over the Atlanta Hawks for seventh place in the Eastern Conference.

Phoenix got 34 points from Jalen Green and 31 from Devin Booker.

The Suns, who lost for just the second time in eight contests, fell two games behind the sixth-place Minnesota Timberwolves in the Western Conference.

East-best Pistons beat lowly Grizzlies

The Eastern Conference-leading Detroit Pistons continued to put their recent slump in the past by defeating the skidding Memphis Grizzlies 126-110.

Jalen Duren had 30 points and 13 rebounds and fellow All-Star Cade Cunningham contributed 17 points, 15 assists, eight boards and three steals for the Pistons (48-18), who have won three in a row after losing a season-high four straight games.

Detroit pushed their lead in the East to five games over the Boston Celtics and remained 7 ½ games ahead of the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Central Division.

The Grizzlies (23-43) saw their losing streak reach a season-worst seven games, their longest skid since dropping nine straight from January 28-February 12, 2024.

Memphis rookie Javon Small came off the bench to score a career-high 23 points and Ty Jerome had 21 in the Grizzlies’ 20th loss in 25 games.

Clippers get past Bulls for fourth straight win

The Los Angeles Clippers continued their red-hot play as Kawhi Leonard scored 28 points and Bennedict Mathurin added 26 off the bench in a 119-108 victory over the Chicago Bulls.

Los Angeles (34-32) extended their winning streak to four games and secured their seventh victory in eight contests to take a two-game lead over the Golden State Warriors for eighth place in the Western Conference.

The Clippers were tied for the third-worst record in the NBA in mid-December at 6-21, but their 28-11 mark since that poor start ranks only behind the San Antonio Spurs’ 29-11 record over that span.

Josh Giddey had 20 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists for Chicago (27-40), Tre Jones scored 21 and Matas Buzelis chipped in with 18 points and 11 boards.

Giddey moved into a tie with Atlanta Hawks All-Star Jalen Johnson for second in the league with his 11th triple-double of the season and fourth in his last six games – a stretch during which the Australian native is averaging 19.5 points, 11.8 assists and 11.2 boards.

Since sitting in ninth place in the Eastern Conference in late January, the Bulls have lost 18 of 22 to fall seven games behind the Charlotte Hornets for the final Play-In spot.
