United States international Weston McKennie has put an end to speculation surrounding his future by signing a new four-year contract with Juventus.

McKennie's previous deal with the Bianconeri was due to expire in June, so he has been free to discuss terms with other European clubs since the turn of the year.

However, the former Leeds United loanee has instead opted to remain at Juve until at least 2030, having carved out a role as something of a utility man under Luciano Spalletti in recent months. 

No player has made more appearances (38) or made more starts (34) for Juventus since last year's Club World Cup than McKennie, with only Pierre Kalulu (3,391) beating his 3,024 minutes played in all competitions. 

McKennie has scored eight goals and provided five assists in that time, with only Kenan Yildiz (nine goals, seven assists) bettering either tally. 

In that time, McKennie has been used predominantly as a right-back, playing 37% of his minutes there.

He has only played 17% of his minutes as a central midfielder, playing on the right wing 21% of the time and at left-back 10% of the time.

The USA star has also played 9% of his minutes in a number 10 role, 3% on the left wing, and 2% as a striker, supporting Jonathan David up front in Juve's most recent match, a 3-3 Serie A draw with Roma on Sunday.

Juventus are sixth in Serie A and four points adrift of the top four with 11 matches remaining and are already out of the Champions League after losing a play-off tie to Galatasaray, with Spalletti's long-term future as their head coach in question.
