The Sacramento Kings won’t have key forward Keegan Murray available for over a month after the former first-team All-Rookie selection tore the ulnar collateral ligament in his left thumb during a preseason game on Friday.

The team said Murray will be reevaluated in four-to-six weeks.

Sacramento selected Murray with the fourth overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, and he averaged 13.3 points and 5.6 rebounds in 233 games over his first three seasons.

The Kings will be entering their first full campaign under head coach Doug Christie, who took over last December after Mike Brown was fired.

Christie guided Sacramento to a 27-24 record the rest of the way and a spot in the NBA Play-In Tournament, where the No. 9 seed Kings were eliminated by the 10th-seeded Dallas Mavericks.
