Victor Wembanyama insisted he is "going to be so much better" in the NBA Finals after the San Antonio Spurs lost Game 1 to the New York Knicks.
The Spurs lost 105-95 at Frost Bank Center, despite Wembanyama's 26 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks.
He became the fourth player since blocks became official (1974) to achieve that line in their Finals debut, after Shaquille O'Neal (1995), Hakeem Olajuwon (1986) and Elvin Hayes (1975).
Wembanyama did, however, miss 15 shots and committed six turnovers, both postseason highs for the San Antonio star, while they were limited to just 19 points in the last quarter.
Nevertheless, the Frenchman is confident of turning things around in Game 2, which takes place on Friday.
"They [Knicks] know how to play with momentum," said Wembanyama.
"We had the momentum until late in that game. That's why I said we let that one go.
"It's almost not like I have anything to figure out. It's almost like I have to play normal, not even good [in Game 2]. It's just [about] doing the right things enough.
"When we play bad, when I play bad, is when we shoot ourselves in the foot. This is why I'm not worried. We're going to be so much better. I'm going to be so much better."

The Knicks managed to pull off a late turnaround on the road, producing an 11-0 run in the final two minutes to take the lead in the Finals.
Although he made just 39% of his field goal attempts (12/31), Brunson scored 13 of his match-high 30 points in the last quarter to clinch an important win for the Knicks.
"I think most importantly, knowing we're on the road, and knowing my teammates have my back, I think that's the biggest thing in an environment like this," Brunson said.
"The trust they have in me and the trust I have in them, it's got us to this point. I mean, I'm very thankful for them every single night we go out there together.
"I think we are a pretty together group. Be able to trust each other and still have each other's back and know that we just have to keep chipping away, chipping away.
"It's just a credit to the mentality that we have as a team."
