The Boston Celtics will be without a major contributor in a win-or-go home Game 7 against the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday night.
Jayson Tatum has been ruled out due to a left leg injury after he was added to the injury report earlier in the day and deemed questionable.
Tatum left Thursday’s Game 6 loss with 4:03 left in the third quarter and did not return.
He returned to action in March after suffering a torn right Achilles in the second round of the playoffs last year against the New York Knicks. But Tatum shook off the rust quickly and averaged 21.8 points, 10 rebounds and 5.3 assists in 16 regular season games.
He has been even better in six playoff games with 23.3 points, 10.7 boards and 6.8 assists.
The 76ers trailed this series 3-1 but have battled back to force Game 7 with the winner advancing to face the Knicks in the second round.
