Brighton captain Maisie Symonds has signed a new long-term contract with the club.

The Seagulls did not disclose the length of the new deal for the midfielder, who joined from Chelsea in 2021 and has gone on to make 103 appearances in all competitions.

Symonds is already Brighton's longest-serving player.

She played in all 22 of Brighton's Women's Super League matches in 2025-26, making more interceptions (31) and tackles (52) than any other player in their team.

"I'm very happy. I feel so at home here," she said upon signing her new deal.

"It's the only club I've ever played for professionally, and I feel I've grown so much over the last six years along with the club and the women's team.

"It really felt like we are setting high standards for ourselves with what we've been building in the last two years.

"We are starting to reach our potential, and we only want to get better and better."

Brighton reached the FA Cup final for the first time in their history in 2025-26, with Symonds captaining the team in the showpiece against Manchester City – they lost 4-0.
