Lyon remain hungry to add to their incredible Women's Champions League trophy haul, so says Jule Brand.

The French giants have won a record eight Champions League trophies, including five back-to-back between 2015-16 and 2019-20, but they have failed to get their hands on the title since 2021-22.

They have been to the final once since, losing to Barcelona in 2024, and last year they were knocked out in the semi-finals, going down to eventual champions Arsenal.

This season, Lyon have impressed, finishing second in the group stage, but they have work to do in their quarter-final as they trail 1-0 to Wolfsburg after the first leg.

Lyon will head into the second leg of a Champions League tie behind on aggregate for only the third time, despite this being their 53rd such contest.

And Brand, who is facing her former club having moved from Wolfsburg to Lyon last summer, says the team have the perfect mindset to come through the challenge.

"When I started, I saw that all the players had won so many titles before, and they still have the hunger to win every title again," she told UEFA.com.

"I see this in training, where the standards are so high, and it makes me push myself and adapt to get to their level.

"On the pitch, I learn from so many great players, as everybody can do something special.

"The Champions League is very special at OL Lyonnes. The team have won a lot of trophies before, and we want to win the next one this season.

"When I signed, I knew the aim would be to win the Champions League and to keep the legacy going.

"I also see the hunger from all the players, from everyone at the club, to win it again, which is inspirational, and it's something I look up to."

Despite defeat in the first leg, Lyon had 19 shots in a dominant performance, and hit the woodwork, though they only tested the opposition goalkeeper three times.

"The team didn't succeed in the first match, so it is our responsibility to do better," head coach Jonatan Giraldez said.

"I think it will be a different story here. We must remember the performances we've achieved since the beginning of the season as we look forward."

Lyon face a tough battle, though, as Wolfsburg have progressed from all 25 of their two-legged ties in the Champions League when winning the first leg, the best such 100% progression rate of any side (Barcelona – 23/23 before this round).

Only once have they won the first leg of a tie and then lost the second leg, winning 4-0 at home and losing 1-0 away to Eintracht Frankfurt in the 2015-16 semi-final.
