Manuel Akanji insisted Inter's lead at the Serie A summit will not help them ahead of their Coppa Italia semi-final second leg against Como.

Inter are on the brink of winning the Italian top-flight this season, sitting eight points clear of rivals AC Milan with five games to go.

However, it is still all to play for in their Coppa Italia tie with Como after a goalless first leg at Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia.

Inter failed to register a shot on target in the first leg; it was the first time the Nerazzurri did not attempt a shot on goal in a Coppa Italia game (since at least 2014-15).

However, in their two other meetings with Como this season, Inter won 4-0 at San Siro and 4-3 at the Sinigaglia earlier this month.

Inter have won the Coppa Italia nine times in their history, with only Juventus (15) doing so more often.

Akanji is keen to win a domestic double this season, but is expecting a tough test against Como on Tuesday.

"We have a good advantage in Serie A, 12 points over Milan and Napoli with only five games left. It’s a great situation, but the Coppa Italia is another thing," Akanji told Sport Mediaset.

"We don’t start with any advantage except from maybe playing at home. It’s a semi-final and Como will come to Milan convinced, trying to do their best. But we want to get to the final and put in our best performance.

"I’m always a bit sure as to what to expect. We want to get to the final and put in our best performance because you never know. 

"Playing against Como is always complicated. The three games we’ve had against them have always been different.

"It would be incredible to win two titles in my first year. We’re trying to do the Coppa Italia double.

"Obviously, we hoped to go further in the Champions League. We tried, but it would still be great to win these two titles."
